DEEP and PRETENTIOUS translations…

Disclaimer: Before I did this show, the words “Hanamaru”, “flower circle” and “gold star” didn’t mean anything to me beyond their literal meanings.

So koda has rage quit fagsubbing, and not long afterwards, she dropped by to tell me this:

  1. Was it your group that did that? Sorry for neglecting to mention you by name. I normally delete episodes after I watch them.

I thought the translation choice was clever, actually, once it got all sorted out. It’s just not the norm in the fansubbing world, so I thought it merited some discussion. That said, I do appreciate all the work you’ve done for fans like me. 🙂

Please feel free to drop by anytime. I’d love to have a fansubber’s perspective on things. Cheers.

    • No problem.
Very nice insightful article you wrote. Got me stuck link clicking on Wikipedia for a good while.
